Yes, July and August are the busiest weeks. Norfolk County suggests visiting on weekdays, arriving early and having a backup plan if parking is full on a hot weekend.
Check before you swim: Ontario Parks tests the designated swimming areas weekly from June through August and lists any postings on the Turkey Point alerts page. A posting means elevated bacteria levels, not that the beach is closed.
July and August are best for swimming, while spring and fall are quieter. The beach season runs from early May to late October, and birders come for the spring and fall migrations. See our trip planners for ideas by season and group.
Much of Turkey Point is seasonal, so check hours outside summer. In 2026 Turkey Point Provincial Park ran from May 1 to October 25. Long Point Eco-Adventures in St. Williams, about 10 minutes away, offers four-season activities. Our things to do guide lists what is nearby.
Several restaurants are within walking distance of the cottages. On Cedar Drive by the beach there is Sandbar On The Beach, the Turkey Point Hotel Bar & Grill, the Suntan Restaurant for breakfast and Kelly's Cove for fries, burgers and ice cream; The Tipsy Pirate is near the marina. The village also has a small grocery store and an LCBO. See things to do for more.
Beyond the beach, there are trails, water sports, wineries and breweries within a short drive.
